Good Morning, America

George Washington was one of the men that made this country free, and, as our first President, set the tone for the way things should go. I think we can all agree that he was a great man. He wrote a 'farewell address' to the American people, but never delivered it orally. It was published in the 'Philadelphia Daily Advertiser' on September 19, 1796, and he made a point in it that has stuck with me all my life.
"Let me... warn you in the most solemn manner against the baneful effects of the spirit of [the political] party... The spirit of party serves always to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration. It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, [and] forments occasional riots and insurrection."
Even over 200 years ago, he saw the folly of blindly following political parties, and how partisan leanings only served to divide the People into warring camps, when they should, instead, be looking for the right men for the jobs.

That which you allow to define you limits you; that which you claim allegiance to controls you. The more control you are under, the less free will you have. The less free will you have, the less individual you are. Ask yourself what any political party has truly done; not a member of a party, but the Party. Nothing. It is a vitreous entity, at best, with no true purpose. It is, at best, a rallying cry. A headless beast, running madly around it's enclosure, picking up riders at each turn, who hang on for no apparent reason beyond the fact that it seems to be a pretty colour, and besides, Mommy and Daddy rode it before them. The party, and those that claim to be connected to it, take heart from the power of the party...but the party is only strong because it controls them without them knowing.

The longer you let yourself be controlled, the easier you are to continue to control...and controlled life is slavery. Ignorance is Strength...Freedom is Slavery...all you need is "War is Peace" to complete your transition to complete subjugation.

And that goes for ALL sides...Democrat, Republican, Green, Libertarian, Socialist, Communist, Fascist, Monarchist, Parliamentary, whatever. It's all the same beast, in the end.
