I bucked up and made four new versions of the logo in question (see last post), with HIS SUGGESTIONS. Now it turns out that he wants something completely different, starting from the ground up, and three COMPLETELY DIFFERENT versions of it, before he'll do anything else (apparently, he told someone else that the work looked like his four-year-old had done it). In response, I've made sure my previous work has been completely removed, and have told him he can take the job to his four-year-old for all I give a shit.
I could have taken the new instructions, gotten a contract signed, and done it. That part would have actually been pretty easy. But I'm not having anything more to do with this asshole. Between the unprofessional attitude and the snide comments (which he doesn't know got back to me), well, he established himself as someone I do not wish to have any dealings with.
With no contract in place on this, that means I'm out the $300 I should have been paid for it. But, on the upside, it means I get to walk away from this with no penalty. So, Fuck You, Corporate Suit. See, here's what I know that you apparently don't: you take that job to a "professional", and you'll discover that their rates are at least twice what mine are, if not more...and they won't put up with your shit any more than I did. Prepare to pay, monkey-butt.
Hope your four-year-old really CAN do that good.
