John Vernon, skilled character actor (probably best known for being "Dean Wormer" in Animal House), died at home in his sleep Tuesday following complications from heart surgery. He was 72.
Ossie Davis, actor/writer/director and activist, was found dead Friday in his hotel room in Miami Beach. No foul play is suspected, but cause of death is as yet unsaid. He was 87.
Two great losses.
