Beyoncé Knowles is on the shortlist to play grizzled protest singer Bob Dylan; other female stars in line to play Dylan include tennis champion Venus Williams and TV presenter Oprah Winfrey.

Yep. You read that right. Apparently, some director thinks that casting a black woman to play the Jewish white male folk singer in his early years would be the perfect way to do justice to Dylan's "inner blackness". It would only be for one section of this potential biopic; seven different actors will portray him over the course of his 43-year career, but this is just off the deep end.

You know, I'd be annoyed by this, but this is never gonna fly with the conservative attitudes of Hollywood studios. At the moment, they seem to be carefully allowing it, but when the time comes down, it's gonna get shot down. At best, this will end up a tiny indie flick that will disappear.
