You know...OK, I grew up watching "The Dukes of Hazzard." There's a part of me that, to this day, would still get a car even close to the General Lee and paint it appropriately (and I'm not saying I'll ever give that up). So, you can imagine my reaction to the making of a movie of this beloved memory of my childhood (note that I called the memory beloved, not the show...I'm not claiming the show was that great; *I* think it was, but that's just me). Now, you may not believe this, but I really have tried to give it the benefit of the doubt. I can hear the groans, and I know that may be hard for you to swallow, but I really have. Of course, that benefit is eroding quickly, every time something new shows up...for instance: Jessica Simpson has remade These Boots Are made For Walkin' for the movie...and here's the video. *sigh* Once again, I'm just going to hope for this to follow in the footsteps of so many other remade movies - a big release, followed by a swift replacement by whatever next splash comes out, followed by a slide into obscurity.
