On Monday June 27, Logan Darrow Clements, CEO of Freestar Media, LLC, faxed a request to Chip Meany, the code enforcement officer of the Towne of Weare, New Hampshire, seeking to start the application process to build a hotel on 34 Cilley Hill Road. This is the present location of the home of Supreme Court Justice David H. Souter, who so recently voted in favour of eminent domain in the recent Kelo vs. City of New London case, making it so that city governments can take land from one private owner and give it to another if the government will generate greater tax revenue or other economic benefits when the land is developed by the new owner.
Man, here's hoping. Wouldn't it just be poetic for the first real victim to be one of the fat-cats who made it possible? Score one for the Little Guy.
