OK, so, pix as promised:
OK, here it is, in the "down" position...
...and in the "up" position (if you look on the lower left, you'll just see the cord and red handle stretched to the wall)...
...so, yeah. Basically, you can see where the cords go to the ceiling. They cross and go down the wall, to the handle, and there's a hook over at the corner. When he wants it raised, he can pull the handle over and hook it to the hook, and when he wants it down he can release the hook and lower it. I built the contraption and Dianna sewed the curtains on it. Erik, needless to say, thinks it rocks.
