Ghost Rider: The Travesty

One quick unhappy moment. Anyone who knows me knows I've been a huge fan of the comic character Ghost Rider for many, many years. In the box nearby, I have 5, nearly 6 years worth of Ghost Rider comics, including special issues, crossovers, and the whole nine yards. There's a poster on the wall, there's figures around the house, there's a brand-new GR t-shirt in my dresser. Major GR fanboy, here, I admit. With the advent of the comic-book-movie-tsunami of the last few years, I knew that the GR film was not far away (the effects are finally good enough to pull it off). Needless to say, my first look at the bike confirmed my worst fears: that Hollywood was doing it's normal bang-up job of raping the established characters, plot lines, and everything else until it was unrecognisable. The more I heard about it, the worse it sounded. This morning, I finally saw the trailer. My heart just sank. This isn't Ghost Rider. This isn't even close. I'm not sure what it is, but it IS. NOT. GHOST RIDER. I know, I know, the comic-fanboy crowd is a minority when it comes to the movie-viewing public, so Hollywood doesn't give two shits about getting the story lines right, because 90% of the asses in theatre seats wouldn't know it if it was wrong anyway...but fucking CHRIST, could they attempt to get any part of ANYTHING right? Apparently not.
