I can't say I'm surprised. The website for GS may list PC games, but if you've ever been in one, you know those PC games are nowhere to be found. Completely catering to the console crowd. You know, it'd bad enough that PC games cost an arm and a fucking leg these days AND games get held back one to six months between console and PC release, and now they're finding a new way to fuck us (case in point: Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, which I've been waiting for and which has been pushed back and pushed back for three or four YEARS now, was finally released on Monday, to XBox and PS2...and doesn't release for PC until the first of fucking MARCH).
I good-naturedly gave the guy there a hard time about it, mentioning that I might have to find another store to frequent, since I traded a LOT of games, mostly right there; he responded that he knew, since he remembered me very well. From talking to him, you could tell he didn't think it was a good idea, either, but what's one store clerk to do, huh?
So, so much for that. No more trading games at EB, and no more cheaper pre-played games from them. Gonna have to search out a new store, I guess. My household doesn't make enough cash for me to pay the inflated full price for games. Any wonder why there's still rampant piracy? They claim the prices are high due to the piracy...but the piracy wouldn't be such a problem if the prices were lower. Ugly no matter how you slice it.
(Oh, and since you didn't ask, I found a used copy of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, and finally found a copy of the Myst 10th Anniversary DVD Edition (the first three Myst games, haven't played in forever), which should tide me over until Stubbs The Zombie releases to PC. Gotta pick up The Suffering: Ties That Bind one of these days, too...anyone up for some game trading? I'm looking to get rid of Obscure...)
