Pat Robertson, American Moron, Tells Town They Are In For Disaster

You know, when Pat Robertson called for the US to go and assassinate Hugo Chavez, I really thought he'd gone almost as far off the deep end as he could go. I still think that was right, but he also just proved he COULD go farther. This time, he's riled up that the town of Dover, Pa., ousted school board members who favoured teaching intelligent design (all eight school board members up for re-election were defeated in elections Tuesday). His response? He told them they'd "rejected God", and if there was a disaster there, not to ask Him for help.

"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: If there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God. You just rejected him from your city." Later, Robertson issued a statement saying he was simply trying to point out that "our spiritual actions have consequences. God is tolerant and loving, but we can't keep sticking our finger in his eye forever," Robertson said. "If they have future problems in Dover, I recommend they call on Charles Darwin. Maybe he can help them."

You know, seems to me to be a very unChristian attitude he's got there. I read a story not long ago about a preacher who really gave it to a crowd gathered to bitch about homosexuals, showing them how their hate was unChristian, and how they weren't in it for God, they were in it for themselves, and their attitude was not what the Bible that they so fervently "followed" preached. You can imagine their reaction, of course...but I think of that story every time one of these religious whackjobs goes apeshit like this.
