McD's Restaurant Shift Turns Into Nightmare - OK, so chick in Kentucky is trying to help out by working some extra shifts, right? She gets called into her supervisor's office, who is on the phone. Supe says that she's got a cop on the phone (and the store manager) who claims someone matching chick's description stole a purse. Chick protests, saying she didn't and couldn't. Guy on the phone gets the Supe to make chick strip down to nothing, with only an old apron to somewhat cover her. Supe has to keep the store running, so she calls up her fiancé to keep this chick here and stay on the phone with the cop.
Thus began three hours of this chick's humiliation, as the fiancé followed the caller's instructions, making her drop the apron, bend over, do jumping jacks, call him "sir", receive spankings, and perform a sexual act on him (probably oral). The Supe check in from time to time, and each time chick begged to be allowed to leave, to no avail. Finally, the fiancé was exchanged for a janitor, who heard the requests and said "Um, 'da heck?". The manager (who was supposed to be on the phone as well, remember) was called at home and discovered to be asleep, and the police (who were supposed to be the ones calling) were contacted, and had heard nothing about this.
Quick resolution: the guy responsible was tracked down and caught (where he lives and works in Panama City, Florida!), and may be responsible for something like 70 of these kinds of calls across the nation for the last 10 years. Supe was fired, and broke up with the fiancé when she saw the security tapes. Caller is facing 16 years in prison, (ex-)fiancé is facing 36 years. Seems backwards to me, but whatever. Chick is suing McD's.
However, what really just kicks my ass is the fact that anyone went along with this from the start. Does anyone honestly think a cop would have called and had a supervisor strip down an employee, much less had another civilian babysit them? Maybe I could believe they could call and have a manager call the accused into the office and hold them there while they came over...MAYBE. But this...this just blows my mind that anyone would have gone along with it from the start, much less to the length it went to. Hell, the sheer amount of TIME involved should have been a good clue that this was not on the level. And yet, here it is. Hell, chick should have refused (even politely), asked for the police or a lawyer or something, right from the get-go.
What a bunch of low-rent dumb-fucks.
