Wow, that didn't take long. I'm almost impressed. Hell, I was sorta impressed to hear Dubya make that claim in the first place, and now other people in the administration are backpeddling within a day. Didn't mean it literally? That's gotta be the lamest excuse I've ever heard.
Let me just add something to this. Remember when Bush said that wind and biomass were technologies that promised to help us free ourselves from our oil dependency? Well, thanks to budget cuts that passed by two votes yesterday after Rep. Roy Blunt (R-MO) twisted the arms of his GOP colleagues, the Energy Department is letting go of alternative energy research scientists. Guess which two research programs are hardest hit? Go on...guess.
