'Blade' on TV

When the movie Blade came out back in '98, I wasn't impressed. I'd always thought the original comic character was a wooden, one-dimensional , annoying ass, and I thought the movie played that pretty well, all while ripping off White Wolf and using Wesley Snipes, Stephen Dorff, and Kris Kristofferson badly. The fact that it spawned two sequels was just par for the Hollywood course.

Anyway, that's just my opinion, your mileage may vary...and if you are someone who really liked the movies, then you'll be happy to hear that Spike TV has given the green-light for a television series based on Marvel Super Hero “Blade” as the network’s first original scripted series. The network has ordered 11 one-hour episodes, in addition to the previously announced two-hour kick-off episode, to be produced by New Line Television, set to commence production in Vancouver this spring. “Blade” premieres in June 2006.
