Rube Woulda Loved This
I was always a big fan of Rube Goldberg, loving the odd devices that he created for whatever chores needed doing, made from a vast array of household items strung in a row. Just cool.

Well, I think he'd have liked this video clip. The only words are in Japanese, so I have no idea what it says, but considering the little jingle on each one, I'm guessing these are some kind of bumper for a TV show. Each one (quite a lot in the 13 minute movie) rambles along to reveal the title or phrase to the show (or whatever it is) using marbles, tracks, cups, books, and various other stuff, and some of the things they pull off are very impressive.

See, this is the job I need.

Oh I remember that one - it was a series of Honda ads done a couple of years ago.

I remember seeing it originally when I was working for RealNetworks. Fantastic stuff. I love machines like that.

Have you seen the new Honda Accord ad?

I saw this the other day and thought immediately of Rube Goldberg, so it's funny you mentioned him today. I thought I was only left on earth who knows who he was.

Yeah, saw that a while ago...very impressive, though, and very creative!

The Japanese clips are placed within an afternoon of children's programming on a Japanese television station. It is one of my son's favourite kids programming.
