Now, as much of a horror fan as I am, I really think the Halloween franchise has been abused enough that it should probably be allowed to die. Think about it, the first two were coherent and connected, and they chose to get off of the "continuing storyline" thing to do number three (Season of the Witch). When that didn't work, they went back to the Myers storyline, each time getting stranger and stranger in an attempt to not be just another "unkillable stalker" series. When that finally went so far that no one had ANY idea what to do next...they abandoned it completely, made Halloween: H20 to try and close it all out, and felt good about it (and, in all truth, it was pretty good). But we all know people can't leave well enough alone; one more was made, and even Busta Rhymes' fun and funky self couldn't save what was, basically, a pile of craperoo.
Now, with all that said...if anyone can make a Halloween film worth watching, it's Rob Zombie. Hell, I'd watch it even if he wasn't connected to it, because, well, I'm a glutton for punishment. But with him behind it, I'll actually look forward to it. So here's hopin'.
