God of Thunder and Rock'n'Roll

Well, another day of doing what I do. It's been a long week, two days of therapy appointments and one of going down to Portland to get Ray fitted for some foot/ankle braces, plus the added fun of some mild snow and ice which seems to have the city in a tizzy. Me, well, I don't taking my ancient POS out in it, but it's not that bad.

John came and hung out last night, and showed that he is, as usual, a pretty cool and perceptive guy, as he brought me the newest expansion for Arkham Horror as a Xmas gift. I know what I'm reading up on, today...

Last week, I took my Harley-Davidson boots in to a local shoe repair shop. One of the zippers has it's pull broken off, and the other zipper was missing a couple teeth. Woman in there says she'll have to get the new zippers in, as she doesn't normally have them there, and it'll be a couple days. OK, I say, no worries. This was Tuesday, she says to come get the Friday. Thursday, she calls me and says that they won't be ready until Wednesday or Thursday THIS week. I figure, she's obviously slow, OK, I tell her I'll come in Thursday. So, yesterday, I get home, I'm relaxing a bit, dawns on me I need to go get my boots. Jump back in the car, go over there....they aren't done. She's behind, she's sorry, they'll be ready by NEXT Wednesday. 2 days of work has become 2 weeks...and I'm STILL getting charged $50, which feels insane. Needless to say, I'll not be using these people again.

Side note: divinemissb and madeofmeat: if chaosreality isn't feeling better by tonight, there may not be a game. I'll let you know when I know something for sure.
