I'm going to bet most of you have never heard of Dame Shirley Bassey. This is a shame, as she's got one of the most incredible voices ever. For the uninitiated, she is a a singer, perhaps best-known for performing the theme songs to the James Bond films Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever, and Moonraker (fun fact: she is the only singer to have recorded more than one James Bond theme song). Don't think this is her only claim to fame; from 1956 to the present, she's done over 45 albums. She's been knighted in England and made a member of France's Legion of Honour. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

Anyway, I bring this up because her latest recording is...get this...a cover of Pink's "Get This Party Started" and it's just GREAT.




And, to really put this into perspective, she turned 70 this year. Christ, I hope I look that good at 40.
