Well, Shit

One of the legs on my chair has cracked around where it holds the caster, so I've been careful about moving it, as the caster tends to fall out. This is a little annoying, but no big deal. However, just a few minutes ago, I shifted in precisely the wrong way, and not only did it fall out, but a second leg snapped clean off, just above it's own caster. This caused a fairly severe tilt, which my oh-so-graceful self reacted to in a probably-comical-looking way. Balanced precariously on the creaking central support, listening to the subtle cracking of the remaining legs, one foot jammed painfully under the right side of my desk, I did everything I could to remain balanced, as I didn't want to knock anything else off the desk (thankfully, the statue of Cthulhu was unharmed in the fall...solid, you know!). With the next episode of Return to the Planet of the Apes still playing on my machine, I carefully, oh so carefully, turned in the seat, so as to extricate my foot and set it on the ground, gaining stability for the final dismount. Alas, my care was exceeded by my clumsiness, and back I fell, tail over teapot, striking myself a good blow on the bean in the bargain. So, a few minutes later, cursing all shoddy manufacturing, rubbing my sore head, neck, and foot (yes, scraped it in the fall), and still managing to keep up with the plot line (not really a difficult feat, that), I got up, angrily threw the chair to the side, and pouted.

So, looks like I need a new chair. I should have the cash for that around...oh...2010. On a good note, our heroes got the humanoids to New Valley and managed to thwart General Urko's plans.
