Metal In Your Face

OK, the volume is helping what started out as a weird day. Felt like sharing some things.

First, I mentioned a track in my previous entry (Bionic Jive's "Break The Chains") that, if you haven't heard, you should. Bionic Jive was rapcore the way it should have been: loud, brash, and hard. Plenty of bands took the idea and watered it down for the MySpace generation, resulting in stuff like Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock, Crazy Town, Zebrahead, and Linkin Park. Sure, not bad, but nothing like Rage Against The Machine or Stuck Mojo. Bionic Jive, to coin a phrase, got it right. Three hard metal musicians fronted by two badass MC's, unafraid to smack you across the mouth with what they got. Sadly, they got out one album out and kinda vanished. Two other albums were announced, but to date, have not seen the light of day. Lemme give you a taste...

Here is a link to download the song itself, which you must listen to at maximum volume. Seriously. Don't let anyone catch you hearing this at level 3 or something. The lyrics:
My approach to danger, political sabotage for death in front of abortion clinics. The American pastime is murder at high schools, and pipe bombs at the Olympics. Hate crimes in federal buildings, terrorism abroad, killing children, now they all atheists. Unlawful Aryans with Matthew Hale, want wars of race to make space. The confrontation is global, then its apartheid became the suicide bicoastal. So much drama and stress inside the world for real, got God looking through his bifocals.

(prechorus)I'm ready to die, give me the word, I'm ready to shoot, I'm ready to kill my enemies, and put em in a body bag, while I'm looking at the president and burning a flag

(chorus)Go against the grain, break the chains, get out
ESCAPE FROM THE KILLING FIELDS, WITH THE POWER TO FORM STORMS, I'M GONNA HIT 'EM WITH RAGE AND KEEP ON
Go against the grain, break the chains, get out
ESCAPE FROM THE KILLING FIELDS, WITH THE POWER TO FORM STORMS, I'M GONNA HIT 'EM WITH RAGE AND KEEP ON

You're in a dominion of holy war, tension keep the Jews and Palestinians hard-core. This is biblical conspiracy written in religion, to keep the world in division, listen. In the streets they collide, turn rivers to blood, and peace treaties turn to napalm theories. Governmental to presidential they lie, America's still high, the killers they multiply. This is final defcon of the omega, denominations gang bang for their saviour. The wicked supersede the lost system with diplomatic immunity to murder your community.

(repeat prechorus, chorus)

Stand and deliver me, strike my enemies and break the teeth of the wicked(x3)
Stand - and - de-liv-er - me - from - this COME ON COME ON
Stand and deliver me, strike my enemies and break the teeth of the wicked(x3)
Stand - and - de-liv-er - me - from - this COME ON COME ON

(repeat chorus)
Good, hard, angry stuff. That line about "looking at the president and burning the flag" sticks in my head. Go figure. Here, you can see them performing another song, "Pump," live on FarmClub, the video cutting back and forth between the live show and the video for the song. if nothing else, it shows off what a badass the main frontman is. Let me know what you think.

So, something else. nysidra mentioned in the comments to that last post about listening to Warrant's "Cherry Pie" and I have to agree. Hey, it was my generation, and I'm a fan of hair metal. This little video is a beaut, so, if you rocked out in the 80's, you should take a couple minutes and enjoy it.

AMERICAN HAIR BAND

And now, Slipknot just came on. Pardon me while I thrash.
