Today

So, let's see...spent as little time at the farm today as possible. Just long enough to do what I needed to do with the wine (a new batch of port is working!) and then duck out before I could be conscripted into splitting wood. A quick trip for food and groceries and home again. Sat down with Erik and watched 300. My only complaint with the film is that Gerard Butler's Scottish accent kept from fully buying into him being a Greek. That was minor, though. Call the film a 99% success. ;)

Also today, I did something I have only done once in the last 15 years, and even then it was just for a skit...

I shaved off my moustache.

Yeah. Feels weird. You may recall that I shaved off the lower part of my beard in May of last year, going from the full beard to the gunslinger. I had thought at the time I might grow it back, but I actually liked it, and kept it. Since then, though, I've never been totally satisfied with it. Finally decided that it was the moustache. I keep it short because I hate it in my food when I eat, but there's a spot on either side of my mouth where the hair just doesn't grow in very thick, so it always looked a little scraggly. So, figured it was as good a day to try it out, and off it came. I'm still getting used to it, and Lord, I look younger, but I think I like it. Now, to decide if I keep the 'chops or grow the beard back in, and do I go back to the short trim or keep the longer growth (honestly, I'd love to have long, dwarven beard braids).

Opinions?

(And yes, here's me showing off my old-skool goth cred with one of two Fields of the Nephilim shirts I still own.)
