R.I.P. Madeleine L'Engle
Author Madeleine L'Engle, whose novel "A Wrinkle in Time" has been enjoyed by generations of schoolchildren and adults since the 1960s, has died, her publicist said Friday. She was 88. She died Thursday of natural causes.

The Newbery Medal winner wrote more than 60 books, including fantasies, poetry and memoirs. Although L'Engle was often labelled a children's author, she disliked that classification. In a 1993 Associated Press interview, she said she did not write down to children.

Man, I haven't read her work in forever, but I remember it being excellent. Cripes, two great artists dying, who's next? These things come in threes, you know....

I've been waiting for the third shoe to drop, and Jane Wyman was not the one I expected.
