From the "Sheltered Children Think They Can Save the World Department": Lysa Harding, 15, couldn't believe the sexually charged prose of the novel she checked out from the library at Brookwood High School. The novel, Sandpiper, tells the story of a 15-year-old girl named Sandpiper Hollow Ragsdale who is on a "sexual power trip and engages in random hookups," according to a review by the School Library Journal. Little Lysa, though, feels this is just WRONG, and refuses to return the book, so that other students won't be exposed to it. She checked it out at random for a book report, and here we are now. Call me crazy, but wouldn't you try to find out what the book was about before doing that? Give me a break, honey...sex DOES exist in the real world, and just because your school teaches abstinence (and don't get me started, there) doesn't mean a thing.
