I hear the kids in my complex when they play outside. It doesn't bother me, most of the time.

So, today, Erik was taking out the garbage. We'd been hearing the local kids out there, playing and chanting/singing, and didn't think much of it. He comes back in and informs us that they are out there...protesting. What the Hell....I listen closer, and, sure enough, they're wandering around the property, chanting 'We don't like people who break our trees and flowers!' Unfortunately for him, he has one more garbage can to empty, so he has to brave their protest again. He returns as we're giggling about it all, now saying they stopped him and asked why we never come outside, which is odd. Sadly, he discovers one more garbage can he forgot, and decides to go out the front door this time. As he's opening the door, sure enough, they come around the side, so he shuts the door and runs for the back. Much to my amusement, they apparently went BACK around to the back. They've now changed their chant to "Know about the love" (whatever that is supposed to mean).

He's back, having outrun them. I almost hated to point out that he forgot the garbage can in the upstairs bathroom. ;)

Re: i love kids...
I have no idea. Apparently, one of them saw someone breaking off a twig, and they were using that in lieu of a protest sign. It was adorable, in a weird sort of way.
