I dumped Trillian and hooked up on Pidgin, since it would run Google Talk, and since it's not a huge pain in the ass. So far, I like it. If nothing else, there's a couple small things that it does/doesn't do that are miles ahead of others.

If I could get out of the game more, I'd be on IM more.
