R.I.P. Robert Aspirin
Funny, really. I recently got Dianna and Erik into playing "Sanctuary", the board game based on Robert Asprin's Thieves' World books. This made me want to read them again, so I dug out my copies, set them by the bed, and started reading (I'm about halfway through book 2, now, and rapidly remembering why I loved them).

Then, I get up this morning and discover he died yesterday, peacefully, at his home. I don't see a cause of death, yet, in fact, reading this message that was sent around many SCA mailing lists (he was an active member), it looks like he laid down to take a nap and just didn't get back up. He'd been in good spirits and apparently good health, so who knows.

Anyway, a sad moment. Both the above books and the "Myth Adventures" series brought me a lot of enjoyment, over the years, and he seemed like a helluva guy. He'll be seriously missed.

a shame but an enviable way to go if that's in fact what did happen.
