Well, I was right. Horatio passed before I even went to bed. Only Jeckyll is left. Kinda like the rodent version of 'Survivor'...

Mailed out my CD to Di this morning...hope she likes it...

Went on a massive CD burning spree this weekend...gotta make covers for them now.

While you do get a bit of sleep every night and sometimes leave the house, you spend as much time as you can online. You usually have a browser, chat clients, server consoles, and your email on auto check open at all times. Phone? What's that? You plan your social events by contacting your friends online. Just be careful you don't get a repetitive wrist injury...

Ewwww...Normal People.

So, this evening, I was invited to come watch movies by some old acquaintences. Now, I haven't been around them in a while, and figured, what the Hell, I'd be sociable and go hang out for a little bit.

*shiver* Normal people. insteadofsilent, excuse me for this. But hanging out with Mick, Lisa, Vicki, her new boy, and Auralee for the evening is kinda like drinking tequila for the first time. It sounds like a good idea, or at least, not so bad, and then you do it...and you regret it. Immensely.

First off, they are a boring crowd. I was the only one making snide comments at the boring movies (OK, Steve, Vicki's guy, joined in, and he seemed like someone I could get along with, so he's exempt). I was also the only one getting a good laugh out of the crowd. I was so unbelievably bored, that I started to leave after the first 30 minutes, but felt politeness forbade it.

(*smacking self for being a nice guy*)

Also, I knew, I KNEW, that i would end up in a situation where I would be forced to either bite my tongue or get into a verbal fight with Auralee...and, let's face it, the fact that I would have won without trying doesn't equal the fact that i am not on my own turf, or even neutral ground. See, she has no sense of humour, is constantly bitching about SOMETHING, will not shut up (even when totally wrong), and doesn't understand the way to have fun. Short version: she's a big, fat bitch. So, I thought to myself, 'whatever she says, let it go...just say nothing'. But, after a comment she made, calling me a bitter old man, it was all I could do not to tell her off. And I did admirably, I thought, keeping my comments in return to myself, and not allowing myself to look like an ass (though I did get at least one good zinger in; after a small exchange, when she said that "some people can't take a joke", I merely replied "some people can't tell one"...it got a good reaction from the assembled).

I finally was able to excuse myself. Lisa was l;eaving anyway, so I took the opportunity to mention that I, too, had to toddle off. Said my goodbyes, walked home, and immediately retired to my room for a good ten minutes of good, loud, hard, drum-and-bass-filled funk (Goddess bless Infectious Grooves).

It had one good effect though. As I walked in, rayce is working on her laptop, wayren is on the Dreamcast, and 01flux and scurvykat are apparently making paper flowers. One look arouind, and I appreciated my friends that much more, for being the weird and interesting people that they are. I love you guys...
