Art Film Reviews

OK, "Naked States" isn't for everyone. Short version: Spencer Tunick is a photographer, and this film is a documentary of his trip across America getting photos of nudes in each state. Yes, he's been arrested more than once, generally because some cop strolled by and didn't like what he saw...or because ol' Spence was blocking a road. Regardless, he presses on, and I have to give him a lot of credit. His work is gorgeous, and well put together. Through all the bullshit, he manages to get it done (5 months on the road to hit them all), and triumphs in the end. Along the way, we meet a lot of the people who posed for him, hearing their stories, and it's pretty end up kinda cheering them on for NOT being the standard social prudes, for whatever their reasons were.

Now, this is a documentary, and an art film, all in one, so I'm not gonna go recommending it everyone. But if you like photography, you should probably see it.

It really seems like I am the anti-trendsetter when it comes to relationships. When I am single, everyone I know is dating someone. When I am hapily involved, everyone else is breaking up.

Just last two night, I talked to two different people who are either getting or on the verge of getting divorced. Man, it's an epidemic...but in both cases, I agree with the separation. In one case, it's a newer friend, but I can see it's a bad sitch...I just hope the woman involved gets her head outta her ass, or it'll end in tears. The other is a very good and close friend, has been for years, but I TOLD her not to marry the guy...hell, we all did. SHe calls me last night to tell me that he kicked her out of the house, and kept their year-and-a-half-old, I'm glad I'm not in Memphis, still, or I'd have gone over to kill him.

Man...every day, I just become more and more happy with my relationship working as well as it does.

Good Tidings

So, in the past few days, it's been implied that I'm more than one person's best resource, my horoscope tells that the work I've been doing is about to seriously pay off, and someone's cowered in fear before me.

*settling back with a smoke* It's feeling good to be me, right now.

Southern Horoscope

Some Southerners are pretty skeptical of horoscopes and the people that read them. If we are to ever fully understand all the star signs and the people they represent, we need symbols that all true Southerners understand:
