City On Fire

Ramble On

Wow, haven't been updating as much...he says, seeing the day before yesterday. Whatever. Why am I awake at 2am, posting to LJ? Beats the Hell out of me.

Am I just that big of an addict that I have to say something? Dunno. Am I just that starved for interaction? Probably...not that this really counts.

Tangent time: Mencken once said: "The notion that a radical is one who hates his country is naive and usually idiotic. He is, more likely, one who likes his country more than the rest of us, and is thus more disturbed than the rest of us when he sees it debauched. He is not a bad citizen turning to crime; he is a good citizen driven to despair." This is the quote I keep in mind whenever I rant about the stupidthings I see, and then someone asks me why I care. I care because I do not like seeing the state of things, and I dislike even more the complacency I see to those things. Why is it so hard to uinderstand that you are free? You are free to hate, and free to speak out about it...you don't have to sit there and sigh and say that it's just the way things are...you don't have to take it like a bitch and deal. As Goddess once said, "I am chaos. I am the substance from which your artists and scientists build rhythms. I am the spirit with which your children and clowns laugh in happy anarchy. I am chaos. I am alive, and I have come to tell you that you are free."

Well, enough of that. My options are now to either surf the Net with wild abandon, or play more Morrowind as Di sleeps peacefully behind me. I have a feeling option B will win, soon enough.

Hopefully, you are all, for the most part, sleeping peacefully.

On a LEGO Roll

gothkittyn and I have been chatting back and forth while laughing about LEGO goodness...it started with the LEGO Tarot Deck, moved on to the LEGO Mini-Mizer, and has finally culminated in high weirdness with the Brick Testament...yes, Bible stories in LEGO.

Jeez, no wonder those Scandinavians take it seriously...I wasn't surprised by the LEGO Porn, that seems like the obvious thing to do. But this all just proves you really can make anything with LEGO.

Makes me wanna raid Bug's LEGOs...

One For The Road

One more bit of high weirdness for the night, before I head to bed...no, no LEGOS this time:

Antlers Of The Damned

And now, I go to snuggle, knowing that my East Coast friends are starting to wake up. Time difference is weird stuff. And much thanx to gothkittyn for keeping me company tonight/this morning...I needed that!

Last winter some dolt posted an on-line petition suggesting that the name "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" was intentionally offensive to the memory of 9/11...
There were about 3600 signatures, of which about 2000 are sarcastic... below is the original petition, and just a smattering of some of the replies:
