Up For Grabs

I've been doing these icon contests a lot lately, but I think I may be leaving them here, shortly. Maybe not. Haven't really decided. Still, the icons I do for them are rarely any that I personally will use, and thus, they go to waste...unless, of course, I hand 'em out.

So, with that in mind, keep an eye out here, since I'll be doing the occasional icon just for the Hell of it. Here's the most recent one of those, for New Year's:

This one was more work than I usually do for an icon, but it was worth it, as it came out exactly as I envisioned. The old man and the baby were static images, so in addition to drawing in the old man's wide-eyed freak-out, I also had to redraw and animate the baby's leg and animate the arm. Still, I was very happy with the result.

As usual, all I ask is that, if someone asks about it, you mention I made it. Share and Enjoy.

Special Shout Out

Gotta give an extra-special shout out today to my dear friend, nythien, who celebrates her birthday today.

May your days be long upon the earth,
May you never be treated below your worth,
May the moon, stars, and sun always light your way,
May you smile and laugh every single day.

Happy birthday, darlin'.

Bah, Fuck You

Well, well, well. Been reading posts and making comments, and I've come to the OH-SO-OBVIOUS conclusion that I'm in a bit of a smartass mood, and just FULL-TO-BRIMMING with Christmas Bile. Gonna be one of those days...maybe I'll just stay off-line and play Hitman.

However, there is one ray o' sunshine. Major, major props go out to m'man etherpunk, for finding me that ONE issue of 'Sandman Mystery Theatre' that I was missing. That completes the whole series, digitally. You are da bomb, bro'.

Priorities

OK, I'm just gonna come out with this, and say what you like.

For those that haven't heard, Brett Favre's dad passed away. For those that don't know him, he's a star player for the Green Bay Packers (football), has been for years. Anyway, the next day, he went on and played a game, and people are applauding him for this. Sick, sad, and pathetic, says I.

Now, I'm already in an argument about this elsewhere, so let me just state that again. I find that to be really pathetic. I know that his father was the one that got him into football, and I know that Brett says that he feels that it's what his father would have wanted, but I find that to be just stupid. Fine, go ahead, call me what you like. It's bad enough when people make the money they do to play SPORTS...not to do a job, but to play a GAME, and it's even sadder the obsession that this country (and several others) has with professional sports, but to then go on and keep playing at a time like this? Fuck.

Any other job, you lose a family member, people expect that you will take the time to do what needs to be done, etc. Pro sports? No way, apparently. You'll get back out there and play, and they'll applaud you for it. Fuck pro sports...what a sham.

I hate it here.
