Jet (Cowboy Bebop)

Actually, I'm not in a great mood this morning. Just...not.

Odd dreams, involving being in some house, I distinctly remember zombiedip and nythien being there, which was nice. Later it evolved into being pretty dark and lots of people around, and we seemed to be doing some sort of preparation for a performance, and I recall standing with two other ladies, laughing about something, and spontaneously making up a musical bit about going to Hell, and remarking "See, this is why I like having geeky people around." Then I grabbed a pass to get in, and went to a bathroom to change from my shorts to a pair of jeans, and woke up.

Lay there in bed for a bit, with some strange idea in my head about a guy with a chainsaw, only to hear one fire up outside a minute later. Must have been going on and got stuck in my head.

Seems every day I get some odd song stuck in my head after I wake up, and it's almost always something I haven't heard in fuckin' forever, so I have no idea what made it bubble up out of my conciousness; today it's "There Are Worse Things I Could Do", sung by Rizzo in the musical "Grease". Yes, I'm in Hell.

Speaking of Hell, do yourself a favour: don't talk about new or upcoming films with me, and I'm gonna try not to talk about them to anyone else, OK? Apparently I'm incapable of having those conversations without pissing someone off, all due to the fact that I have this strange higher standard for my entertainment. I'm sure you are all tired of hearing me bitch about 'Hollywood' and their practices, and frankly, I'm tired of being called down for my desire to have something more than mindless drivelling pablum for entertainment. So go ahead and look forward to your sequels and remakes, and I'll just sit here quietly and stew in my own juice, OK?

The Man Of 100 Characters Passes Away

R.I.P. Frank Gorshin

He'd been fighting with lung cancer, emphysema and pneumonia. He was 72. Damn, I liked that guy. You probably best remember him as "The Riddler" on the 60's Batman TV show, but he was an extremely accomplished impressionist, one of the men that fuelled my enjoyment of doing voices and impressions of my own. Without this kind of influence, I wouldn't be the gamer/DM that I am today...and I'd have laughed a lot less.

Sleep well, Frank. You've done your time, you earned the rest.

Yesterday's Answers:

1. Forward I'm heavy, backward I'm not. What am I? -- TON

2. What does no man want, yet no man wants to lose? -- A bald head (no smart-ass remarks about the bald guys you know who shave it, I know some, too)

3. What goes up a chimney down, but not down a chimney up? -- an umbrella

Too bad I didn't save these for today, it would have been a fitting tribute to The Riddler, on the other hand, they would now be classified as the last riddles. Hmm. Whatever, on to today's:
Picture a liter of milk and a liter of Kahlua. A cup of the Kahlua is poured into the milk and mixed thoroughly. Then, a cup of that mixture is poured back into the Kahlua. Is the amount of Kahlua now in the milk more, less, or equal to the amount of milk in the Kahlua? Explain.

Yeah, I'm A Post Freak This Morning

Question for ya: Where/how did you start reading my journal? I'm curious, partly because I don't remember a few, partly because there are some new people reading me that I have no connection with, and I'm curious as to what got them to my little corner of the darkness, here. Plus, I suspect there are some people not actually reading me, and if so, I wonder why I'm listed with them...so, drop me some kinda response, willya?

This isn't one of these "comment or I cut you from my list" things...I'm just interested.

Just finished watching "Firefly"...and yes, allow me to join the rest of you FF fanboys in drooling over the impending film. Fuckin' Hell, that was an incredible show...here's hoping that the film does so well that the networks want him to come back and do more of it on TV, eh?

So, apparently, Trump wants to rebuild the Twin Towers (only, make them one foot higher!) right where they used to be, saying that "Freedom Tower" is a bad idea. Personally? I agree. Partly it's because I'm sick of all the sappy sugary-sweet memorials and tributes and fuck-all that has come out of the events of 9-11, and I'm all for anything that tries to put a lid on it. Another reason is that I like the idea of thumbing our nose at the terrorists of the world more than I like the idea of a giant tombstone they can point at and proudly say they caused.

You cannot fight a "war on terrorism", no matter how many patriotic-sounding speeches our English-mangling President makes while he runs this country into the ground...but any psychologist or psychiatrist will tell you that facing fear down and showing it you are NOT afraid helps it to go away, while giving into fear only makes it worse.

Just my two cents.
