Be Aware

I just received a bit of mail from "mail@livejournal.com", saying only "We attached some important information regarding your account", with a small zip file attached.

Now, the internal virus scanner didn't detect anything, but keep in mind that any official communication from LJ would not be from this address, and would be considerably more official in it's wording than one simple sentence and no name. So, be aware and be smart.

Somehow, I seriously doubt this was "official communication" from LJ.

(no subject)

Note that it's the anniversary of D-Day. A lot of people died today, 61 years ago, to help liberate Western Europe from the Nazis.

Moment of silence.

In A Mood

Just in that kinda mood, one where I feel like picking on something. So, my apologies if you happen to dig on something I'm laughing about; just remember, this is all in fun, no need to get your panties in a bunch about it.

Just because I saw some Myspace links today, makes me remember this pic I found recently (and just saw again today)...

Then, of course, there's the news running all around the 'Net that Apple will start using Intel chips, which reminds me of a pic I've been holding on to for months...

And, just because I posted it earlier for someone else, feel free to laugh at my current desktop, from it's anally retentive icon placement to the fact that I was listening to Bon Jovi.

Hmmm. Need Food.

About Damn Time

So, something like 2 months or more ago, I ordered a new pair of biking gloves. The first set was apparently lost in the mail, and when we got hold of the place about it, they offered to send out a new pair. Then, those didn't show up, so we contacted them again. This time, we discovered that the whole operation was one chick, and her father had died, forcing her to travel from Florida to New England to deal with it. We were told she'd send the new pair out when she got back. So we waited...still no gloves. We got to the point where we were gonna just tell her to shove it, refund the cash...

Use Your Brain

Expand Your Mind

Better late than never...the answers: 1. The trains would be the same distance from any place, when they meet, 2. If you take two apples, then YOU have two apples, and 3. The next letter is N, for November (the letters were months)...

So, let's get a late Monday riddle in:
Shadow squinted into the rising sun as the early morning light reflected off the freshly fallen snow. Shadow headed due east following the snow shoe tracks of Harry Fowl, the world famous photographer. Suddenly, to Shadow's horror, he came upon the dead body of Harry Fowl. He had been shot and killed by an arrow that entered his back and pierced his heart. Shadow raced back to the chalet where his weekend companions were just sitting down to breakfast. All three men were shocked when Shadow relayed the tragedy. Sam Slug kept muttering that he just couldn't believe it. Sid Shady said it seemed just moments ago that Harry told him he was going to photograph various birds in their early morning habit. Buck Shot, who was counting his arrows, turned ashen white when he noticed one of them missing. "One of you in the killer," said Shadow. Who does he suspect and why?

A note On The Permaccount Sale

Yes, just noting, since the sale started at midnight EST (about 30 minutes ago)...and for all of you that said it would take more, here's a bonus: Permanent Accounts now get 100 icons. Paid users will be able to pay for it in the future, but, for now, it's just Permaccounts.

So, thank LJ. They heard you and gave. And, here I was at 49, thinking I was gonna actually have to start giving some up soon.
