Burn The World

(no subject)

FEMA Chief Relieved of Katrina Duties

I know the blame game helps no one right now, so I'm really trying not to play it (much), but I am pleased to see this. FEMA Director Michael Brown is being removed from his role in managing the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Now, the original rumour I heard/saw was that he might be removed as Chief, but I have no confirmation on that. Still, the relief effort under his control was/is a shambles, so I'm glad he's off the case.

I love this part:
Asked if he was being made a scapegoat for a federal relief effort that has drawn widespread and sharp criticism, Brown told The Associated Press after a long pause: "By the press, yes. By the president, No."
*snicker* No surprise there. The media is a pack of wild dogs, yes...but, damn, son, you were running the relief efforts, and look what has happened so far? As for Dubya not making him a scapegoat, well, whatever. Bush as has already shown, repeatedly, that he won't bother cutting out any cancer in his sick administration, why start now?
