(no subject)

Well, been a couple days where I had Erik home, and it's been fun playing "Dad" in whatever minor sense I was able. mostly, we just goofed off, but we had a good time, never once had to be strict (in fact, I was pretty lax), and plenty of laughs. We even surprised him by bring over a friend of his last night to hang out and sleep over and didn't tell him we were doing it.

Yeah, that was fun...but what felt better was getting to overhear him with his friend when he didn't know we could hear. He went on, happily, about the stuff I had taught him and what a good teacher I would be, because I made it fun and knew so much. This came out of the fact that, using a bit of foam board to make a shield, we got on to heraldry, so I went on about what they meant, the symbolism of various parts, and how it worked, etc. (We're going to design him a personal coat of arms for the shield.)

THAT felt damn good.
