OK, no word from Job 2, so I threw caution to the wind and called them myself. This turned out to be a good thing.
My contact says that they do orientations every two weeks, so he was halfway to his decisions. This made me twitch a little. however, he went on to say that as far as it went with me, he was already planning to have me do a second interview with the location where he needed to fill, and was going to be calling me in a couple hours anyway. I laughed and said that I hoped I wasn't putting him on the spot, just that I was a bit antsy about it and wanted to follow up. No, he said, that was a good thing, he likes persistence.
Anyway, next couple days (I'm assuming Monday-ish), I should talk to the next guy. He had also mentioned that said contact needed more of the customer service drive and angle at his location, so this sounds very positive.
