It's been fun for a long time, you bet. However, as much play time as I get, I've really seen it all and done it all. Seriously, I wandered around not long ago, just looking for nifty little spots I'd never seen, and found nothing. I've experienced it all, every raid, every giant monster, you name it. A few things I never achieved, sure, but I've done the actions enough. On top of that, the last year has brought a lot of changes to the game. Some, I haven't cared about, some I've not liked, but the overall shift in the game's paradigm (as I see it) is not one I'm all that happy about. Not being all gloom-and-doom about it, just sayin', it's not my thing. These days, I find I'm barely logging in, taking the time to play other things that I'm enjoying much more.
So, handed over the reins of any group I ran, transferred the bulk of my characters' cash to friends (hey, it's not doing ME any good, might as well give it too those that will use it), and closed out the subscription. Made a couple of good-bye posts to the LJ communities, too, because I have made some very good friends there.
What's next? Well, I'm pretty stuck on Dungeon Runners right now, and with it going away soon, I'd like to see as much of it as I can. Star Wars: The Old Republic looks pretty damn nifty, but that's still a long way from going live. In the meantime, I might try to get some basic gaming done (I still haven't played Bioshock, dammit). We'll see. I might even give World of Warcraft another try (and a fair try, this time), I dunno. The future is open...
