Matlin was interviewed by Entertainment Weekly about it, and her responses were fabulous. Yes, the skit was sick, twisted and rude, she said...and it was also hilarious. No, she would only have felt mocked if she wasn't laughing right along with it, and people need to lighten up and laugh. She was proud to be part of it, and had a blast.
That's character, kids. That's self-confidence, security, and a healthy attitude towards life, right there. My hat's off to you, ma'am.
