God of Thunder and Rock'n'Roll

So, Saturday I was supposed to go over to cee_gee's place for a game of Civilization. Planned for a good 2 weeks, all fired up to bring Egypt out of the Dark Ages (I like playing Egypt, what can I say?). However, waking up at 5am and feeling hideously bad, I had to bail out. Good thing, too, as I felt bad pretty much all day. Don't think I would have been good company.

Meanwhile, Di took some old sheets and made drapes for the bedroom. Every since we moved in, i have not been sleeping well, and we suspected that it was at least partly due to the fact that the morning sun lights that room up like a spotlight. With drapes in place, I slept better than I have in a month. Still not great (well, I never do, I hate sleeping), but much better. Good enough that I could get out in the yard and do some trimming, etc. Hopefully, some weekend soon, I can convince No-LJ-Jasso to come over and help finish clearing out the garden beds.

matrixleap and herince_emyn came by, partly to pick up the folding chairs they'd left here and partly to see if we might want to go to the fireworks show with them. We declined, but ended up getting a pretty good show, ourselves, right here. So many people around the neighbourhood were shooting off fireworks that we just sat on our back patio with some much-needed ice cream and watched several shows at once. Truth be told, we also logged in to Warcraft and got our characters drunk while watching the Goblin Fireworks at Booty Bay. ;)

Another better night's sleep and it's Monday already. Feeling better, hopefully this will all clear up soon.
