Good thing: My machine is once again hooked up to the world, which is a wonderful thing. Catching up on all my picture sites, so this week's Friday Pix should be pretty hefty.

Bad thing: Jessica is sick, might be tonsillitis. We were afraid it was strep, but there doesn't seem to be any fever, which is good. Either way, she's feeling pretty crappy, and I hate that there ain't a damn thing I can do.

In other news, I took out my nipple rings, finally. Y'know, I wanted those things for a long time, and when the opportunity came to get them, i jumped at it. In the end, though, they never healed quite right, they were never placed quite right, and they just...didn't do it for me. The reality was never what I'd hoped. Really, I've kept them this long simply because I'd gone through so much for/with them. The final straw was Jessica saying she wasn't a fan of them...and so, they're gone. Gotta say, I don't miss them at all. It's nice to not worry about catching them on everything, etc.

you can do something. You can make her hot tea with honey. You can make her popsicles. You can make sure she is taking something for her pain and fever. You can wash her face. You can run her hot baths with epsom salts. You can be *there*. That's doing something.

Oh, you know mr, Miss Stax. I'm Papa bear, I take care of my people, and you know I'm doing all that. I just want to make it go away, and there's some things even this bear can't do. ;)

it could also just be postnasal drip, which I always thought was strep (and sometimes was).... until I went to my doc one time and she talked to me like I was stupid and told me to get some of the good decongestants (the stuff you have to get behind the counter and show you ID for, the kind with psedoephedrine). I was so pissed that I wasn't even tested for anything, but ever since then when I get that throat hurty feeling that's what I do. a few weeks ago I think it still might have been something else because my glands were swollen too, but it did go away after about a week. :P

anyway, good luck and semi-congrats about taking out the nipple rings.... I know the feeling of going through so much for/with a piercing, but it's good you don't miss them.
