Anyone teaching this should be beaten repeatedly. Thankfully, this is not the norm.

I've gotten sick three times this year and the only change I've made to my life is that I've stopped sleeping around as much. I guess that means the Lord wants me to go back to being a slut.

These people are stuck in a pre-enlightenment mentality.

The germ theory of disease is one of the biggest public health advancements in history. Countless lives have been saved because, for example, we know enough to make doctors wash their hands before delivering babies.

But you can't get something like the germ theory of disease without being willing to move beyond the utterly useless "It happens because God made it happen" mentality. That's why the thinking in the comic is frankly dangerous.

To make it clear, I'm not ridiculing faith or saying it has no place in our society. I think faith helps a lot of people make it through this life and it clearly gives some people the strength to be better people. But if you believe in a just God, do you really think He wants you to unthinkingly use Him as an explanation for disease, rather than actually learning about it so you can prevent it or cure it?

I find fact that anyone would teach that unspeakably disgusting! Even I haven't encountered that and you know I've encountered some pretty die hard religious types when you consider my upbringing.
