R.I.P. Randy "Macho Man" Savage
Love wrestling or hate it, you can not have grown up when I did and not know The Macho Man. A legend on the wrestling circuit and a larger-than-life guy, he was just too damn fun. Yes, he gained more than a little cheese factor when he became the spokesman for Slim Jims but, come on, he was a pro wrestler. It was all about the performance, and that didn't hurt his image any.

Sadly, he has died. Seems he was driving down the highway with his wife when he suffered a heart attack, lost control of the vehicle, and veered across traffic and into a tree. He died from his injuries, though his wife sustained only minor issues.

He won't be soon forgotten, and I do mean beyond stupid internet photoshop images.

somehow it seems appropriate that he didn't *just* have a heart attack or a car accident that killed him, but it was BOTH. He wasn't the sort of guy who would do just one thing if he could do five at once.

And hey, just a touch of Rasputin as well.

He also did a *lot* of voices for cartoons (and a few games). He was a very busy boy.

he will be missed for a long time to come.

I second that, I bet if he hadn't hit the tree he'd have just been too manly for his heart attack to take him down.

and i certainly would not be at *all* surprised to learn that the way he hit the tree was to insure that the impact hit *his* side of the car and that hers was protected.

Was sad to hear about this. He's a big part of what I think of when it comes to wrestling, next to Hulk Hogan.
