Video card caused another BSoD today, this time on a fullscreen YouTube video. Card is dying, and faster than I like, but I just got my tracking number for the new one's delivery in today's e-mail, so hope is on the way. Sure hope it's the video card, anyway...the culprit keeps coming back to nv4_disp.dll, which is part of the drivers. They were updated two days ago to the newest ones (ones less than a month old!), so it's gotta be something in the card itself. Needless to say, I'm just a hair nervous, but no surprise there.
Reset the router today to try and make the WiFi accessible (it would connect on the Netbook, but there was no actual activity). Upon resetting it, all machines had no connection, and that made my day oh-so-much better. Still, doggedly fucked with settings and reboots of modem and router until everything worked. The upside to this is that I can stay in bed in the mornings when I wake up at 5am and still check my e-mail and whatnot, but Jessica doesn't have to feel like I've left. Snuggles and connection: no complaints there!
Strikes and gutters, ups and downs. My stress levels are high because I'm worried about Jessica, and it's overshadowing everything else...not to mention that it's now 10 months since I left Portland, and I'm no closer to getting my stuff out here than I was then, and that bugs me, on both a personal and friendship level: I'm heartily sorry,
Most of the time, I feel like I don't know what I'm doing, I'm just winging it. Luckily, that has worked more often than not, and having the love of a good woman helps a lot.
