365 Days

One year ago, I jumped on a train and left Portland. One year since my life made such a huge change. One little year...one long year.

So, what's the score? Well, on the down side, I'm not working yet. This is by choice, as I wanted to be available to help out around the house and in taking care of people. Yes, I'd like to be earning a living, but I know what I do is helpful and appreciated, so that's all good. Still, no cash, though. On the up side, Jessica and I are stronger and closer than ever. We weathered some hard times in this year, and a couple of them looked a little bleak, but it was such a strange situation for both of us that this was to be expected. In the end, we've been a good influence on each other, we've both learned and fixed a few things about ourselves, and we're very happy.

This isn't what I planned to happen or the place I'd planned for us to be, but it's a good place anyway and the future still looks bright. Here's to another year.
