Jon Lord, the legendary keyboard player with Deep Purple co-wrote many of the bands legendary songs including Smoke On The Water and played with many bands and musicians throughout his career.
Funny, I just watched a documentary about Deep Purple not a week ago. I've been a fan of them all my life, and still have a first edition pressing of the legendary "Machine Head" LP. A great loss to music.
