You all know I have a personal hatred with the crap about September 11th, more specifically with the stupid shit that has come out of it. I have just discovered the one thing connected to it that I don't hate. In fact, I'm impressed, and just about humbled.
A village in Kenya, only recently really digging the magnitude and import of the occurance, sent us 14 cows. Yes, 14 cows. This doesn't seem like much, but in fact, is monstrous.
The cow is special and sacred to them, first of all. Secondly, this is a village in Kenya...as in the middle of fucking Africa. 14 cows is a MASSIVE gift from them (and let's not even consider shipping over a dozen cows all the way to the US).
Within the linked article is a link to a website, set up by some programmer to allow you to send a message to the Masai village, in thanks. I happily added my thanks to them, and I would love to know you guys did to, even just a short thanks.
And please, don't be a smartass. Reading through the comments, I see a few in there by smarmy assholes who I would love to beat the ever-lovin' bejeezus out of. One guy said that now we could have a great barbeque, f'fuck's sake, and another, who claimed his comment was from PETA, said not to eat meat, we'd have preferred 3 tons of yucca root? WHAT MAKES THESE PEOPLE DO THIS CRAP?!? I swear, I'm so voting for a thinning of the herd, so to speak.
Fucking humans. It's people like that that make me believe we do not deserve to be here, alive and kicking, and just need to wipe out the whole fucking race, let the planet try again. If not for happenings like this, I'd have given up a long time ago.
