You know, I've noticed this. It's sad, but not surprising. Who are the faces of today? Theatrically, can you think of anyone, new to the screen but making waves, whose hair is any longer than some crappy shag? Musically, we're screwed...boy bands, and their ilk, all of whom could use a good couple feet worth of mane. Where are the Adam Curry's of today, the Alice Cooper's, the Lemmy's, the Dave Mustaine's? Hell, even Anthony Keidis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers chopped his off...and let's not mention Metallica. It is a sad, sad time for those of us still happily hirsute. But keep that long hair swinging, my friends...all fashions return, and some never go out of style.
Nothing feels quite like brushing out your hair. There are so many nerve endings in the head; the short-haired miss out on this. And NOTHING beats hands in your hair.
If you can't deal with long hair, you can't deal with commitment; it takes effort and understanding. But those that can? Oh, they are worth grabbing and holding! A man with long hair shows that not only is he willing to stick with something, he's willing to put work and care into it. He's also not looking to be another cookie-cutter pretty boy...he knows there is more to life. He's got style and verve...how much can you do with short hair? Not a lot...but those long tresses can be changed, styled for the occasion. Long hair is vigor and virility!
And while I'm on the subject, let me add beards to this. A mustache, sure, that's nice, but a true beard, full and cared for...a work of art. I don't mean just letting that fungus on your face grow out wild, I mean taking care of it, trimming, shaping...the beard is NOBLE, dammit. Bring back the days of men wearing beards...and hats, for that matter, which look great on your long hair.
Long Live Long Hair! Bow To The Beard! All Hail Hats!
*fists in the air, banging his head, his long hair swinging in the breeze of freedom*
