I Feel So Dirty
I have ranted about 3rd Edition D&D since it's release. This is entirely my own bias, and follows the old adage of old dogs and new tricks. However, I haven't gotten to game but a little in the past couple years, and I am severely hurting for it, so now that I know some people I might be able to game with, I realized that I need to have the books and have at least a working knowledge of the 3rd Ed. system...besides, NWN is done under 3rd Ed. rules, and there are some things that make no sense to me whatsoever.
That being said, while out this evening, and bought myself the 3rd Ed. core rulebooks. The damn things feel slimy in my hands, and I shiver when I touch them. I haven't even been able to make myself open them yet...it's just wrong. I prolly would have not done it, but I was looking through the game sections of the bookstore, and saw that Gygax has written a sourcebook for a world that is done in an Egyptian style, and once I saw that it was done with 3rd Ed. in mind, I broke down. I'll doubt I'll ever be a convert, but at least I'm keeping up.
I can't decide if I feel violated or violating. *sigh*
