As you no doubt would guess, I HATE all the crap connected to 9/11. It happened, it sucked, move on. Noooo, can't do that, it's too mediaworthy; EXPLOIT IT! I'm fucking sick of seeing American flags on every damn thing. I'm fucking sick of people being referred to as 'heroes'. And I'm fucking sick of being told how bad I am for not being 'patriotic'. Well, kiss my ass...we're human, and we're monsters, combined. I feel more for the comment I heard that the main tragedy here was that the terrorists screwed up someone's beloved skyline than I do for the woman who walked a US flag across the country to deliver it to ground zero. And don't get me started on the professional widow, Mrs. Beemer.
I have never felt bad about feeling this way...hey, I'm just honest. I gotta give a lot of props to Salon.com for doing an article about the "forbidden feelings" oassociated with 9/11, and feel evenm better at reading reader's reactions to the article.
Oh, and have I mentioned lately how much I hate Jerry Falwell? Quote: </i>""The ACLU has got to take a lot of blame for this. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way -- all of them who have tried to secularize America -- I point the finger in their face and say, 'You helped this happen.'"</i>
