The LJ Tarot Deck

OK, time to just come out with it, even though it's pretty obvious by now. This is the new art project I want to start working on: a tarot deck with an LJ user on each card. As an example, check out the first card (me, obviously) created, The Magician. I've even made a community just to house the project, and to give it a focus point: ljtarot

Obviously, this is gonna be a lot of work on my part. In fact, the sheer amount of work involved had deterred me from doing this for almost two years. But, as I said, my artistic side finally won out. I think it could be very cool, once done. No, I don't actually have plans to produce a hard-copy set of them, but who knows? discordian has already expressed an interest, and I might do one for myself, so I'm not ruling out anything at this point.

Now, here comes the hardest part: this is gonna take participation on YOUR part as well. I need someone for each card (and for something like 'The Lovers', I need two of ya!), so get involved! Wouldn't you like to see your face on a tarot card of your choosing? Come on, this has the potential to be pretty big. After I get you guys requests, I'll pimp it out to community_promo and others to get more people involved, but as you guys are my friends, I'm giving you first crack at it.

Admittedly, there are a couple cards that I have definite desires for. othiym, I'd still love to have you for the Empress, or you and luxcanon for the Lovers or the Sun (actually, a shot of all three of ya would be great for 9 or 10 of Cups...come to think of it, that's what I REALLY want now!). zombiedip has already snagged Death, as she felt that she really had been reborn when she got out of her abusive marriage. discordian grabbed Knight of Swords this morning. I'm considering trying to get bradfitz, LJ's fearless leader, for Emperor or maybe Judgement, but that's not set in stone. And caliban MUST be the Fool. Period.

Still, with a total of 78 cards to fill, there should be something for just about anyone. I'm willing to get really odd on some of these...it could be a user, or a couple of users that are close, or a community...hell, maybe I'll just make "LiveJournal" in general be the World. ;)
