Not that there is a lot going on. Same slow life here for me, really. Been enjoying my cable internet connection, I'm sure you guessed that. Kat has been here this week, and it's been nice having another person around...much less the fact that she makes a wicked meatloaf. The only real "exciting" time was yesterday. dravengodvamp managed to get back down here, his nephew R.J. in tow again, and so there was one group at my house. Add to that the second group to arrive, with was rayce, faemortel, and Kaitlyn (I really hope I spelled that right!), and you got a housefull...hell, we even have Bug this weekend! It was a little interesting making sure everyone had somewhere to crash out, but we managed OK, and had a good time all around...and of course, I managed to get in one picture of the group throwing the horns (Bug included):
Speaking of enjoying the cable, I gotta thank Kaitlyn one more time for turning me onto that BitTorrent site...beautiful...
Another week, and Doug should be moving down this way, and I am very much looking forward to that. Being a fellow Southern Boy, he has the same mindset and attitudes to things as I do, and it's nice having someone around that is similar to you, especially when you are that close...and as far as I am concerned, Doug is family. Besides all that, I'm finally gonna be able to get back into some gaming...Kat wants to play, and hasn't been able to, for lack of finding decent players, Doug hasn't gamed since he was twelve (so he's willing to do it), same with Di...I'm gonna have my game group back!!!!!! Hell, I'm even running a one-shot little thing for Bug today...yeah, I'm making a gamer out of him.
Speaking of Bug, I've had more opf a chance to think about things, and I've come to a conclusion. I'm not gonna back off as much as I initially said I would. I'll tone down the dogmatic authoritarian stuff a little, and route it through Di a little more, but I will not stop teaching him and raising him, and trying to instill in him the things I think are important (honour, integrity, courtesy, etc.). If Captain Clueless (i.e. his father) has a problem with that, he can go suck a dead goat. Frankly, I wouldn't have to be a father to Bug if his FATHER was being a father. This is a guy that admitted, years ago, that he doesn't have a fatherly instinct in his body, and now he's forced to be one, with competition. I'm actually sorry for him, but that doesn't mean I'll sit blindly by and watch him screw up Erik. The bottom line is that Erik's raising is not up to him or his choice alone...so if he doesn't like something I do, there's nothing he can do about it.
