Moulin Rouge

You know, I never really wanted to see 'Moulin Rouge". Mostly, this was because everything I'd seen or heard from everybody that saw the film was about how it was such a beautiful love story, yadda yadda yadda, love conquers all, yadda yadda yadda, it's just so heartwarming, yadda yadda yadda. But I sat down and watched it this evening, and to my happy surprise it was a fun movie, full of odd mixes of music, beautiful dressed and shot, and wonderfully directed. In fact, my only real beef with the film was that the heartstring-tugging death scene at the end was dragged out so long, it finished with the heartstrings and started pulling on the lungs, liver, and spleen.

A fun flick, yes...what were the rest of you missing?
